Nephrology | Kidney And Blood Pressure Regulation (Contributions to Nephrology) Hiromichi Suzuki (Editor) and Takao Saruta (Editor), «Kidney And Blood Pressure Regulation (Contributions to Nephrology)» S. Karger AG (Switzerland) | ISBN 3805577516 | May 2004 | PDF | 172 Pages | 1,6 Mb This book attempts to integrate the progress in the physiological aspects of blood pressure regulation mechanisms related to the kidney. With this in mind, we tried to collect a series of original contributions from leading experts in the field. The continuous evolution of techniques and biomedical aspects has overall led to significant progress; however, in recent years, major concerns have been expressed about gene target research. Therefore, molecules of different origin and nature are investigated from various aspects and a number of particles are hardly integrated. http://rapidshare.de/files/19313211/BP_and_kidney.rar.html

Cardiovascular Disease in the Uremic Patient
Uremia, which is associated with the deterioration of renal function, is a complex process that influences all cardiac structures. The most important manifestations of this disorder are hypertensive and anemic heart disease, coronary artery disease and heart valve diseases. Cardiovascular diseases are thus the primary cause of death in patients on hemodialysis. This book presents strategies to significantly reduce cardiac morbidity / mortality in uremic patients. Topics include the role of oxidative stress (caused by anemia) in cardiovascular injury and the correction of anemia by means of erythropoietin. This correction also significantly reduces increased oxidized lipoprotein species, key factors of arteriosclerosis. Another risk factor which is discussed is severe left-ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), which predisposes ventricular arrhythmia triggered by critically reduced coronary reserve, often leading to sudden death. A multi-interventional interdisciplinary therapeutic approach to achieve improvement in cardiac morbidity / mortality is of utmost importance in the treatment of uremic patients. Nephrologists confronted with these patients will thus highly profit from the treatment strategies presented in this book. http://rapidshare.de/files/20317324/Cardiovascular_Disease_in_the_Uremic_Patient.rar.html

Coping with Kidney Disease Mackenzie Walser, Betsy Thorpe , "Coping with Kidney Disease: A 12-Step Treatment Program to Help You Avoid Dialysis" Wiley| ISBN 0471274232 | 2004 | PDF | 1 Mb | 240 Pages Book Description A revolutionary program that can indefinitely postpone the need for dialysis If you've been diagnosed with kidney failure, this book could save your life. If you suffer from diabetes, hypertension, obesity, or any of a host of conditions that put you at risk for kidney disease, you owe it to yourself to read what is in this book. If you are among the 60,000 North Americans who go on dialysis each year, the information in this book could substantially improve your quality of life. The centerpiece of Coping with Kidney Disease is Dr. Walser's revolutionary 12-step program for avoiding dialysis. Based on treatments he has pioneered with his own patients at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, the program calls for a supplemented low-protein diet supported by treatments to control blood pressure and correct high cholesterol. So effective has this breakthrough strategy proven to be that in many patients it actually worked to slow or arrest the progression of kidney failure to the end stage. Knowledge is power. Coping with Kidney Disease empowers you with what you need to take charge of kidney disease. http://rapidshare.de/files/27267683/Coping_with_Kidney_Disease.rar.html

 | Diabetes and the Kidney Diabetes, when untreated, leads to damage to several organs within the body, particularly the kidneys. This damage may also go undetected for several years, until the later stages of kidney failure are reached, with a need for kidney replacement therapy - either dialysis or transplantation. Such progression is not inevitable. With good management, diabetes can be well controlled and kidney function can be maintained; to a certain extent, the damage can even be reversed. Diabetes and the Kidney is written for people with diabetes, their families and carers. It describes the function of the kidneys, the development of nephropathy, the ways to recognize it early and the correct way to manage it. The title emphasizes how people should take responsibility for their own health, with information on diet, giving up smoking and taking exercise. Clearly written description of kidney function, how it goes wrong in diabetic nephropathy and ways to prevent this Guidance on diet, exercise and generally encouraging people to become involved in their own health care Information on treatment of kidney disease and kidney replacement therapy http://rapidshare.de/files/28452768/sdgsg.rar.html
